Thanks Schwinnray. She got a lot of looks at Shiny Side Up today in San Jose.
I took a little time to sneak away from the show to snap a couple more pics.
For a while, I had a vintage gooseneck on the bike, but the apes had a smaller diameter, and the spacers just ruined the look. Fortunately, a buddy had this beat up old BMX stem, and I thought it was perfect.
I also got around to installing the shifter. I decided to put it on the seat tube, but kick it to the side a little to make it easier to reach.
To hold the cables in place, I used the old spokes from the same wheel I got the front hub from.
With that, I think she is done... May be time to post in the completed bikes section...
When you drilled the mounting holes for your shifter on the seat tube, did you make sure that no metal shavings went down the tube to the BB? I did the same thing and didn't even think about it until someone pointed it out. I cleaned out my BB and tube before riding it.
Lol, yeah, but only by accident. I had assembled the BB with no grease, so I had to take it apart and noticed the metal shavings in there... Never would have thought about it otherwise.
Thanks for the compliment. One more BBO in the bag.
