I found me a mid-80's Schwinn Cruiser 5. Pink from the factory. Stripped the gears and naturally have to make it the ugliest, girliest thing I can, starting with lavender grips. Maybe a seafoam green seat next, if all goes well.

In all seriousness, next purchase will be some white-walls. Then I'm trying to decide between two gold 100-spoke wheels, or one gold 100-spoke wheel in the rear and an Aerospoke up front. Anyone ever put Aerospokes on a cruiser? Opinions?

Sorry about pic quality. Camera phone + bright sun = massively washed-out pics

I had it happen once on this bike, when I had it on the next higher rear cog, but hasnt happened since I moved down a cog. I think I got a better chainline, and I have the chain pretty tight. However, I have had other bikes set up like this that constantly had the chain move up the cassette, seizing up the whole drivetrain and bending axles. This is just what I'm running until I get a new wheel, or at least a new cog, so I would suggest you go ahead and get the BMX cog.
