1953 Cleveland Welding Roadmaster
This was a Before and After mostly by my buddy Chad Thompson [RRB Name.....??] somewhat locally here in Wisco.

He did an OA Bath, Added the headlight and gave it a touch of Boiled Linseed.

When I got a hold of it recently, it was sitting on the same rims and sprocket it started with [the originals] and I temporarily added a 1/2" pitch Monark Sprocket and saddle off a '47 Elgin Badged Monark I have as well as the wheels off it to ride it standard chain until I get my hands on another skiptooth chain in halfway decent shape.

I feel bad for my all Original Monark sitting on some crusty wheels right now but the longer these wheels and saddle are on this, the more I like it.. I don't know if it'll get them back until I find painted and striped skiptooth wheels to put on this ., and a cooler longer spring prewar saddle. as far as these tires go, I need whitewalls or blacks on it. the Clays just arent cutting it and detract from so much of the frames nice details.
Might be able to find a local willing to trade

lastly., the sprocket it was built with leaves a lot to be desired for CWC., Id rather have a Twisted Hearts, a Kidney Prewar or a Snowflake Sprocket on it., the Monark donor is doable for now and frankly, doesnt look off to me.
final note., some other bars with at least a little chrome left wouldn't be bad..
Light feels weird to me on this., very cool but.. just..not right. another light and a proper springer will be happening.

The Kona Joe
This is a before and middle ,seems I can’t find the pic of the latest addition to the ride .
Was incredibly bad to ride as a stock build ,I shortened the fork by 4” and went with a ruff cycle Ron bar .
Went from 8 speed to 10 speed .

well the backdrop isn't near as pretty but it's on its kickstand and finished unless I find a rear rack. Now to find another frame too build this winter!

only thing I added by the time this Before shot was taken was the 1940 Elgin saddle and the correct Airflow Higgins hub rear wheel.. the last rear wheel it had was the same one but pretty far gone. I fortunately had one in great shape after a Polish from a mix and match someone put together months ago I picked up for parts. Since I live in Wisconsin now, I found the saddle in pic 2 appropriate for such a rusted out bike, thanks to the aw some sticker it had on it. My plan was to build it up and make a smooth rider out of it with as little cleanup as possible while making it completely sound and comfortable.


...guess you could say it was a major success. All that's left is a sprocket switch and a little grease. (Fortunately I have the exact same sprocket on a donor frame. This one's bent up pretty bad.)
