Bent head tube

How can I fix this? I had a frame fall from a hanger. It landed on the lower head tube and is slightly bent as you can hopefully see below.

Piece of pipe and pry it out maybe?

Spread it back with some kind of cone, maybe?

I would find a 1" or 3/4"piece of pipe and lay the end over the inside of the bend and tap the pipe with a hammer until it came out.

The pipe idea may work. Maybe try pressing in a bearing race?

Poke around the plumbing or hardware stores and see if you can't find some sort of pipe reducer or other cone-shaped object. You could then either drive or press that item into the headtube until the offending dent is removed. The cone shape would make it self-centering...just don't overdo it and split the tube. I think there are actual tools for performing this task, but they're expensive. This is my poor man's solution.

Perhaps something similar to this clutch alignment tool?

It may help to heat up the area with a propane torch before you start doing this.

Maybe try pressing in a bearing race?

This worked for me before when UPS were careless with a bike during transit. If it's steel it will go right back into shape, just go slow and careful.

See if a muffler shop has one of these and will let you take a whack at it. This tool would be perfect, provided the pointed end is small enough to fit in the headtube.
