Got some more done today. Got the chain guard and cranks on, did the initial fitting of the springer, had a little fun with a King Cage flask mount, and worked on the mount for the vintage microphone-to-light adaptation. Good day's work - gotta love day's off [emoji1360] Pics to come.

WOW :43:

Thank for all the nice comments! I'm pretty happy where she is so far. Here's a shot of the parts roughly "in position" to get a feel for the amount of blue that needs to be balanced with some ivory, copper, brass and leather. Fingers crossed! I got the rims & tires ordered today as well - now to wait for them to get here.

I may have to go back and end up with the same color as you. My initial enthusiasm for the MRO paint is fading as I'm having trouble figuring out the alchemic formula it takes to get a smooth finish and the durability of it laughs at a reasonable wet-sanding grit, much less rubbing compound!

Got the larger light all polished up.

I'm in tracking number heaven - lol Looks like the rims, tires, and headset will be here on Tuesday and a couple other items on Wed. I can't wait!

On another note: Looking for advice on coaster hubs. Peggy (the wife's Firestone), the Blue Bomber (Huffy Mainliner), and our daughter's Breeze all have Bendix coasters. I love the look of the Torpedo's (esp the brake arm) but they are SPENDY! Thoughts anyone?

That is beautiful! No one makes stuff like that anymore. The attention to detail and fine craftsmanship are hard to find today.

Exactly! I found a few "NOS" from Belgum but with shipping they are $250+. Of course it would look great on the bike

If you plan on keeping this bike for a long time, you could force yourself to wait til later to get a torpedo.
I know, I know. Easier said than done.
