Looking good Skip . I have one that someday I will redo. I love a Higgins.....wish I had a tank though

If I come across a tank I might get it, but I like it very much without.

I gave bigpantsbob all the pieces today. He says he's going to spend some time welding this weekend. If so, that means Ian and I get our seat posts Monday. Woot!!!

I, being of sound mind and body (debatable), do solemnly proclaim my love (purely platonic/brotherly) to BigpantsBob.

dig the masterly seat repair  :)

I still cannot find my chain tool otherwise I would have taken this thing for a ride tonight.

Thanks!

I got my seat post clamp for JLarkin today. ( Thank you so much again!!! ) It has many coats of paint on it. I think I'm going to leave them all.

Saturday I had some time to spend outside playing with bikes. I started by disassembling everything. Then I cleaned and greased up all bearings, had to replace one headset bearing. I got out the SOS pads and a bucket of water. I scrubbed every part. If some paint came off with the surface rust, fine. 8) There's some light blue under some of the black and red (orange-ish). I used the front wheel that I wanted to but for the rear I borrowed the Sturmey Archer 24"x3" 3 speed wheel with the Thick Brick and the stick shift from my Airstream Bike. It fit quite nicely. I will have to keep my eye out for another wheel like that.

The bike rides fantastic. I love the big fat tire back there nestled in the fender and skirt guards.

Here's the only photo I got before a thunder shower came in.
