what about going to your local vinyl decal shop and have them print out the cheacker design and let them apply it on th rim for you. ofcourse you would hove to remove the spokes and hub but i belive that it would be much easier than taping off individual squares
you would think so but the rim is round and curved vynal mask is square. you would get like 2 inches into puttin it on then you will run into bubbles, streaching and masking wanting to overlap itself. would be better off using tape or the square sticker idea..

dude i just went to the office section at the terrific wal mart and got little rectangular stickers there

worked decently not the highest quality but as my grandma says
"you wouldn't notice it on a galoping horse"

works for me!

Annnnd in the quick and dirty department:

Checkered tape! Might also work for making a nice stripe around a frame tube and then clearing over it.
If worked slowly around the rim it might work, dunno.

There is also model airplane trim tape available, I think its made by MONOKOTE. The thing is, they have the heat shrink film also, so make sure you're looking at TRIM TAPE.

The Monokote would probably be easier to work with, a thinner plastic, designed to curve on the model..
Also, if i remember, that stuff is fuel resistant.

sweet.. im gonna have to try and find an image of those tires.. (at work.. need to hurry)
