Moving right along Chad! Tell me again, why did you chop the rear end off and are going to weld a new one on? Other than, I do know you like to play with torches and stuff

After chatting with oj I have decided to just run single speed 3 piece crank. Had to break out a little leverage to get the bb back to square. Broke the braze on the down tube so will have to weld that now as well

Will do some more welding when I get home and some more pictures later

Had this done last weekend but never posted progress.
So I cut the bosses off of the gt. Left some big tabs for hose clamps so I could get them fit to the frame.

Looks like it'll fit Chad? And your brake cable spanning the two brake arms clears the tire?

Yes it clears. The bosses are in a little different spot than in the pictures. I have a video I have been trying to post but tapatalk keeps crashing as it loads

Do you have a youtube.com channel? If so, you can post your vid to youtube, then copy and past the url into your post on RRB...

So I used the hose clamps to figure out where the bosses needed to relative to where the pads need to be. I made a jig off the doner bike to get my distance correct. Cut the tabs off the bosses. Bolted them in the jig and welded them where they needed to be

Wow! Sweet saddle, what brand / model is it? Lookin' good Chad!

That's a new one on me. Be interested in hearing how you like the fit / feel. Hard to beat Italy for saddles!:wink1:

+1 on the saddle, dig it.

Against advisement I went with a front derailer multiple ring. I had a bit of time playing with spacers and hose clamping a cable stop but I got all 21 gears to work
