I tried to copy the Super Chief Santa Fe design, But with out cut vinyl stencils this was the best shape I could come up with :roll:

Masked the rear fender last night only took 45min. A third of the time the front took me

Spaying the red on Monday after kids go to school. I work at 4pm Monday so lots of time to get paint on.

UPDATE! .....Monday 12-19

It worked!

My older son was home with a bad cold. ... Let him in on the secret of Garret's bike ...seemed happy for him... and wanted to help :mrgreen:

Going to try and lay down some black pinstripe (tape) in between the colors

This will be done before Christmas

The paint and striping turned out great! I can really see the color scheme now
The chain guard looks like the front end of the train 8)
Can't wait to see the assembly

Looks great buddy. I love builds for our kids, we put more detail and care in them than anything we'd build for ourselves.

So true, I have never tried a two color paint scheme before.

This has been a very fun build for me.

If Garret likes it half has much as I have building it. I will be VERY HAPPY!

Good news Chicago public school has class thru 23rd

I can get some done when the boys are in school :mrgreen:

My 10 yr old Taber was home sick for three days, Yesterday they were both home with strep throat :shock: :shock: :shock:

Garret's going to say home again today.

I will have to wait till tonight to do the assembly.

I have got just about everything ready. need to paint the truss rods red. everything else is a go.

Some flat black parts..

Rear fender is done

Frame is ready...

More to come!
