Quite the juxtaposition in this city's layover but these waterfowl do seem to appreciate open pavement near water.

There is a little island in the lake nearby where at this time of year you here a lot of commotion going on. It's a protected breeding ground for wild geese and swans.
After the breeding season is over it's our go to spot to swing into the water from an overhanging tree...
There are a dozen cyclone-fenced ponds within a 5 mile radius of my house, and they are all seasonally occupied by ducks and Canadian honkers.
These are ponds designed to percolate runoff water from the streets back into the ground. That’s where our storm drains go.
After the recent rains they are all quite high, but I haven’t been hearing a lot of over flights at my house which is usually frequent this time of year.
We have had several heavy winds and rain storms which kept them down until recently.

As it turns out the local ponds are much lower than I expected. Today I did an 8.5 miles loop which covered several of the local ponds.
There were lots of geese.

Goslings were seen at most of the ponds I visited.

There was an island and lots of birds were squawking away at me.
I ended up at the local playground which is only 1/8 mile from my house.

I'm doing artistic cockpit shots now. This one is about changes, forlorn parts in the sun representing the things of youth which get put aside and attain the beauty of nostalgia
Either that, or it's dark and dusty in my garage. But I'm definitely saying something
