Cold weather

Whats the coldest weather eou have been out in to get a bike? Today was mine it was 8 degrees when we got to the auction. think it finally got upto 12 when they finally got to the bike I got today.

A few years ago -20 f and we used 2 snow blowers to open up 2 miles of bike path at that temp. Then rode it the next day.

I did take the car on that day.... Think that was winter of 2008-09... so cold that year.

I have biked to work in -teens.

It was 0* yesterday and I forgot to where wind pants.......burr. Today 3* but will remember to dress a little warmer. When the road guys say their Legs are burning I know what they mean.

It is getting cold even here in Texas ...Forecast calls for low of 14 tonight, with brutal wind.. BRRRRRR,I moved out of New England to get away from this but it didn't work. Yesterday it was almost 70.

Yup, I used to live in snow country, 10 miles from two ski areas,and plowed snow for a living. I have found that being in the warm climate down here makes the cold when you get it seem worse.. Earlier this winter I was up north working and got to where 10 degrees was still ok to work in but not when yesterday was 70..

That cold in Flint? How is the snow there, got much? Escanaba even has a fair amount of snow. For the most part here in the Northern UP we have really not been dumped on, but it keeps snowing a few inches at a time. The snow banks are just like they were in the 60,s. People are putting brooms sticking up in their truck beds so you can see them over the snowbanks at intersections.

Yep, that cold. Quite a bit melted away, but there's still probably 12-14 inches out there right now, and its extremely packed down. It comes through in clippers, but like 2-3 inches occasionally every few nights. During that polar vortex though we got 23.5 inches here.

Sounds like a lot of people are having a colder/snowier winter than normal too.
I won't ride if the windchill is below 0F
My hat is off to the people are still riding

-14 and with the windchill felt like -40 . 6-8 mile ride on Jan 1st . New Yrs Day Ride on Chicago Lake front with the OGOAR Club a few yrs ago

I will go digging for bikes at any temp but since I like riding my old skip tooth cruiser the most I dont go out riding when there is snow and it's below freezing.
