Crunching Noise

Happy almost Father's Day all you Dads,

Question, I have an old Rollfast with a Skip tooth on it, I bought a used chain and installed it and have been riding it around on mostly flat roads. Every time I push hard on the pedal for a down stroke there is a crunching noise; when I'm pedaling easy, everything is nice and smooth. To me, I think the chain may be stretched a bit...is this crunching a possibility?

Side note, recently had the crank apart for cleaning, inspection, a re grease and re assembly...no issues with bearings, necklace or race.

It's possible. The chain could be climbing the teeth if one or the other is worn.
