Toying with the idea if painting and altering this Elgin guard to fit, kinda dont want to ruin it.

It's just sitting in other guard, I would have to redesign the brackets to make fit.

It wouldn't be too hard to make that chain guard fit. It just depends on how you feel about "butchering" vintage parts. I am using a ratty old JC Higgins chain guard on my build. Since it was already in sad shape I didn't feel guilty about cutting on it to make it fit.

The men's CG has different mounting points then the womens , don't ask me how I learned this . I would use it and if any one ask , blame the dog !

Decided on butchering,here's the new bracket.Now on to paint, I want to try and keep some of original crust showing through so I will match the paint on the tank.

Paints dry,it fits,a little more scuffing and something to hide the rear bracket peekaboo hole. Also it's a lot of blue space, need something on guard to break up the blue.

Way ahead of you, painted scalloped and a little steelwool for some fake wear.
