Doing America On A 3 Speed

I think I've come across 3 people/groups just in the past week or so that are biking across America and have just been through my town. This guy is doing it on a 3 speed and is the most entertaining. Some of you might recognize him from TDF videos http://ryanvanduzer.com

3speeds are dang good bikes. if you hit nothing too extreme, 3speeds is about all ya really need. id like to see someone do it with a single speed cruiser (not a fixie).

after spending alot of time riding sturmey 3 speed hubs, i'm convinced its all ya ever need in the way of gears.

those s.a. hubs are bullitproof and not too hard to work on. one summer i got bored and rebuilt like 7 of my aw hubs. ill take them over derailleurs anyday!
