I just picked this dyno up today. It has a shamano 4 speed and is in fairly good shape with the exception of a couple scrapes and a few dings in the fenders. Does anyone have any info on this bike? It's called a dyno-matic and there is next to nothing on the Internet about it. The guy I bought if from said it was one of about only 80 ever made by dyno.

I have never seen that model, but as long as there's a "D" behind the seat post, I'd be confident it is a real Dyno. Sweet find.

Shimano Auto-D 4 speed!? When those hubs came out, Shimano sent them to bicycle manufacturers to try out. Shimano brought a bunch of the sample bikes to industry shows to demo to the dealers. I got to try some out. Pretty nice imo. The Auto-D 4 speed had a switch to change modes: automatic with more aggressive shift points, automatic wiht easy pedaling shift points or manual where you used the soft touch buttons to shift by wire. I really liked the soft touch shifter buttons. The Auto-D was so much better than the recent fully automatic 3 speed found on the Trek Limes and similar bikes. I wonder if your bike was a demo model for the shows, ie, one of a kind. The only things that set it apart from other Dynos is the hub, paint & decals. An easy to make one-off.

The frame looks identical to the other dynos I've seen in pictures. I was contemplating selling it until I rode it and I fell in love. I feel I got a pretty good deal on it especially since it may be one off bike. There's a couple more pics.

my 1997 enduro. I changed the bars, seat and pedals. otherwise (except maybe tires) og. I even have owner's manual. I agree w/ mikeybikee - not so good in dirt - throws chain. mountain bike is better - deurailler keeps tension on chain.

Wow! You have the only other Enduro i have ever seen! Mine had a solid fork and bmx styled bars originally. Thanks for sharing.

I picked up this Dyno 2 days ago for a couple hundred. It has a 4 speed and 10 gauge spokes. Being new to Dyno I assumed the spokes and 4 speed were something a previous owner had added, but yesterday I discovered it's actually a rare 1997 Dyno Roadster LTD. First thing on my "To do" list is to strip the baby puke green and have it powdered black. Then my plans are to widen the rear stays to accommodate an 80mm or 100mm wheel/tire combo. Triple tree forks and an 80mm wheel with disk brake.

Here's an update shot of my Deluxe, rare chance gave me the opportunity to pair this bike up with the wheels Dyno should've put on it originally!

And here's a update of the wife's, as mentioned, rare chance and opportunity put a nice Dyno chainguard on. Still an ongoing project! :)

I have to rave again for her bar choice, I would have used english 3 speed styled and severly limited hand hold options.

I changed mine up a little bit. I removed the finders then changed the handle bars, wheel set and a few other little things.

These are my favorite Dyno's. This one is not done, so far, 3 speed wheels, kenda 1.95 slicks, layback seat post, bars and stem(to be changed) and seat. Full wrap fenders are coming.

The front bike is my wifes, the U G L Y cruiser is my daughter's. Hopefully she learned her lesson about half locking bikes up!
