I bought this at a thrift store recently. At first glance, I thought it was a StingRay, but it's not. If I'm reading the serial number correctly, I get April 10, 1959. It has an AS bolt on the seat post clamp, a single bolt stem, and white with black pinstriped S-7 wheels under the black spray. Front hub says Scwhinn in script, made in Germany. Rear hub has looks a Komet, had a grease fitting, and the brake arm (which is the same shape as a Komet brake arm) says Schwinn approved. Front tire is a S-7 Westwind, rear is a S-7 gripper slik.

I'm not sure. I already have a StingRay. I might clean it up and flip it. I think it may have been red originally.

Purple looks to be the color. It's under the red if you look close.

I dont think purple came out until the 60s. I bet red is original
