Another cool build man.
You are getting a ton of work done on this build so far.

About ready for some field paint...now for some better temperature and lower humidity.

No work today, went pickin instead. I found a 1938 Garton Aero Flite survivor. Not the real fancy one but the artillery model. Original condition, good wheels, graphics, remaining paint and solid. It lived on a dairy farm.

I saw a Western Flyer wagon at a garage sale yesterday, not sure of the year, but probably late '40s - '50s. Had the raised front section. 100 bones was too rich for my blood, but I was diggin' it. Your new find is sweet!

If it had a raised front lip on pan it might have been Murray Mercury model wagon. Depending on condition might have been a good buy.

Had reasonable temperature and humidity today so I shot some paint on frame, tank and fender braces. Not a lot of wind but I noticed I have one cottonwood seed that landed on frame. The frame gets some off-white trim next. The tank gets some key lime on the center raised area.

Picked up a Persons flea market saddle for a good price. It needs recovering and a cleanup. In looking it over it may be a Frankenstein saddle with the marriage of seat pan and undercarriage.
I have a couple of other possibilities for this build. When I get a little farther along I'll do some visual test fits.

Saddle looks like a winner to me. Your pup continues to photo bomb your close-ups ! She looks worried in that picture of your tank..."Did it turn out ok?" :)

Thanks. Just need to come up with a piece of leather. I have better luck with leather than vinyl.
Yah, my build work is taking place in the backyard and patio this summer so Maggie is keeping track of what I'm doing. Painted parts move to garage for drying and curing. Tank looking good, crisp line at color break one more color. If time permits might add a copper pinstripe at color transitions.
Maggie had dropped a ball and it rolled under deck, so maybe she was worried...

What do you use to paint ?, it looks fantastic it can't be spray cans it looks to nice.

Thanks! I use Rust-Oleum with the clip on handle, over Rust-Oleum primer

Your frame is beautiful but running the fork through the front fender does it for me. How do you guys come up with this stuff? If someone cuts a frame to run it through a rear fender and welds it back together, Im just gonna throw in the white towel now and surrender

Thanks for your comments but I can't take all the credit. The fork through the fender was a standard Elgin manufacturing detail on some of their models starting in 1940 or so. That's one reason I picked up the rusty hulk I started with.

Cleaned up small parts after rain stopped. Soaking the skip tooth chain in a bag of WD40. It has a few sticky links, most are freely moving. The original chainring might give way to one with a few less teeth. Our normally dry creek was running good today.

A buddy of mine, who is a car guy, was just over and he was totally amazed at the quality and attention to detail on my Elgin frame. So much attention to detail, thought of design aesthetics, and craftsmanship. I fell in love the first time I saw the frame.
