Okay, at first I wasn't gonna do this but i have so much fun doing it, its prob, fun to see it get changed.
The end result i have in mind will be a mix of;
the electra ratrod(black bike red rims, white wall tires).
the electra rs( 24" rear 26" front)
and the electra delivery(wood inserts and front carrier)
I start with this my daily driver, a chinese or so, frame from "easybike".

its a somewhat short and tinyframe, so i thought it would look better with apes, bentspringer and bananaseat.
so in order to make the frame free for that build i first had to get another "daily" frame,
and finish my other builds.
all that is bolt on to the frame will go on to the new frame.
i alway's liked the early electra ratrod and rs frames. so i went looking for one,
wich i found for a fair price on the internet.

very litle rust, so it cleaned up nice and got primered today;

tommorrow sanding, and a second coat of primer.

Wetsanded the frame last week, sprayed on some more layers of paint today.
i think i'm done with the black, now comes the red for the headtube and scallops down the tubes.

Did a first layer on the chainguard too, and found some cool lights to put on another bicycle
at "Antwerp vintage reunion" a show from Belgium based cc "vultures".

Wow, I'm currently doing a Macargi roadster in blk n red and that chainguard looks Great,
I will copy that idea, thanks. I threw in some silver ribbons in the red for contrast
and to match the Electra grips I got, Great work !...........Stevil

O.k. Stevil go right ahead, be sure to let the wind blow some sand in your fresh drying paint, as it did on mine.
I left it in there, in time I will sand the whole bike with a very fine grid of sandpaper or something,
to try and get a more aged(rougher) look on the bike.
It looks very traditional right now with the black, red and white.
are you going to ad the white too?

I did the striping myself, needles to say without experience I needed some tape for guidance.

Can't wait to see it alive & kicking next week 8) one of my fave frames ever, shame I had to let mine go...

Haha, that's my goal, first testride it at cruisemania, after that A'dam.
I am in the process of building a front rack that works with a springer.
bjbyn9.jpg

there's 2 ways i guess.
1. atach the rack to the springerstruts.
it allows the springer to move but will effect the suspension if heavy loaded(crate of beer) :D
2. atach to the steerertube(somewhere where the fender is mounted) and the bars, this will have to be a litle more forward to allow the springer to pivot(at least clear the spring).

check "marktplaats" i think i saw a rs for 50,-euro. looked ok.
(i believe the guy/girl doesn't know what an electra is).
several others on there that seem to be ok for different prices.

Out with the old..........................

in with the new...........................

build it up today, I like the way it turned out.
still some stuff to do though.
i also changed the rear sprocket for a smaller one , way faster now!
did not put the rearllights on yet, i never got them hooked up on the other frame and
i didn't like the way they now looked on the seatstays.
prob gonna put em next to eachother under the seat, gotta make a bracket for that first.

thanx guy's,

been working on these, after the clear went on they turned out a litlebit darker then I had hoped, however when in the right angle and light they look almost gold.
So I think I will finish these and put them on(might not be done on saturdauy guy's).

Got me a cheap front rack yesterday.
I put it on but i didn't work with the suspension front fork, it bolts on to the front wheel axle and the handlebars. because of to much friction, i adapted the rack so it would only be mounted on the front fork.
After a testride it was still not ok, now the rack is not sturdy enough so it will not hold any weight.
I think i have to go at it with the welder, if i want to make it work.

as far as looks go, i am not 100% feeling it.
i'm working on a trailer design in my head (saw some cool ones @ fbi).
So this will be a temp. thing. just so i can get some groceries.
some pic's,
