My parents picked up this 1974 Schwinn at a garage sale for $7! I have a 74 catalog, but this model is not listed. They list a Continental 5spd, but not the Continental II with 10-spds. The Elgin was purchased at the Wauseon antique motorcycle show, swap and race. I paid less than I have seen the tanks sell for on ebay. It needs tires and the bearings cleaned and greased. The seat has some issues as well. I think I will leave the original patina on this one.

That would make sense because the paint does seem sub par for a Schwinn. Lots of orange peel. The decals look like they have been on the bike for a long time. The serial number on the frame makes it a 74 which does not show up in the catalog as I stated earlier. Maybe the frame was a older replacement painted by a bike shop.
