Thought I was going to be able to work on this thing all night but had to put brake pads in the truck instead so got a late start and not much done The headset cups that came with the fork didn't fit the frame (of course) so I broke out the big bag of headset parts...

and found something that will work.

luckily the steer tube length is correct so I have a fork!

that's all I accomplished tonight but I'm happy with it, couldn't resist throwing the wheels on for a quick pic...

stay tuned...

Another night of no work getting done, had to help the girlfriend move furniture and I've got a furnace issue to deal with that's probly gonna burn up my weekend, but I did dig out most of the parts I want to use gotta start somewhere I guess... Got this rack off a JC Higgins girls bike I bought a couple years ago for the beehive springer

I like the shape and the color almost matches the fenders but the straight brace has gotta go

gonna use this dog leg crank

with this chsinwheel

and these mystery swap meet pedals that say "chair" on them...

once I get the crank mounted I can try to decide on a chain guard but that's another project for another day. Got a nutcracker stem

and a set of Wald longhorn bars

and I can't build a build-off bike without a pair of Ian's grips

that's all for now, and of course any and all of that is subject to change without notice

I've actually been collecting parts for this bike for about a year now most of it is cheap swap meet parts

Now I have the chainring on the crank I'm going to use

it's time to decide on a chain guard, I have 2 to pick from, if I use this one I'll drop the rear mount so the top of the guard is parallel to the chain

but I'm leaning toward this one cuz it's kinda curvy...

hafta stare at it some more I guess, stay tuned....
