Production is over for the Dodge Challenger, Chevy just announced that January 2024 is it for Camaro. I wonder what sedan Chevy will run in NASCAR and NHRA Pro Stock. I don't even follow available models anymore. Maybe they go back to a Malibu four door, ugh. It really doesn't matter since NASCAR makes them run a common template it actually proves nothing about production cars.

Yes, I saw that too. That would preclude it under the current NASCAR rules
Those rules will be changing. Every big team is already working with electric to get in front of the curve. JGR has already moved to utilizing an all electric Camry for pit stop practice. Granted it was to appease the next door neighbors to the shop and give them a break from the noise 😂 But it is pretty darn cool none the less (and I am very anti electric)

Garlits wanted to be the first to break 200MPH at 90 with an electric car in the drags. He wasn't first but I believe he has done it. I'm not on board with the electric either but it is something to think of Big Daddy hitting two centuries in the traps at age 90. This must be how guys felt when the flathead was dethroned.

I believe that (almost) everything has it's place. I converted my 1985 S-10 to full electric 12 yrs ago; it can carry 3/4 ton and will do 70mph for a short period of time. My 68 Camaro is too rusty to put into service now (maybe later) but it can double as a hiding place for my bike treasure pieces: wife thinks it's crap. Anybody know a good therapist?
Today's grab was a Raleigh Super Course bare frame $5 (rough) and a Schwinn saddle $2. I didn't NEED them and I probably paid too much, but they looked sad and lonely sitting there all by themselves..... waiting for a good home......

Yeah, NASCAR has gotten too boring and drifted too far from its original concept. The last NASCAR race I went to was the version run on road racing tracks. All the other classes that day ran in the intermittent rain. Not NASCAR. They delayed all the other races because the track would get damp and big trucks with heated blowers would circle the 4.4 mile track to dry it. Just as they got ready to race it would sprinkle again and out came the blow dry trucks. Come on NASCAR, you had to do that three times. The cars functioned so poorly that front wheels came off the ground in corners. The last time I saw that was in 1963. Then top speed was way down because the cars were so heavy that they had to brake early for the corners. 180 mph was he top speed. A modified Mustang with a Roush mill later ran in poring rain and reached 200 mph.

Challenger was the best repop.

I say if they can't recreate a repop to look like a true vintage auto then don't even bother.

Yeah they all jumping on the electric bandwagon so stupid. 🙄

Ebikes are one thing ecars and emotorcycles I draw the line

I agree that Dodge got it right. The Mustang looks kind of close. I'm a Chevy diehard but I always felt the current Camaro looks like a caricature.

What have we learned today?
We all agree that any wagon without fins is .....

Besides, a wagon has 12 volts and maybe 36 amps on a good day.
The rest is taken care of by ye goode olde gasoline.
So much for your electrickery, or whatever you call that witchcraft.

Mobility is either provided by pedal power, or gasoline, in the latter case, lots of it.
These are the only two natural locomotions of a male human.

Anything else is just a conspiracy theory. Do not fall for it.

I have a personal policy that has served me well for many years. If it doesn't require fireproof underwear and the consumption of fossil fuels it is not a sport.😁🏁 (written with tongue firmly planted in cheek)

There is, however, a sport, whatever that is, that doesn't doesn't require fireproof underwear and the consumption of fossil fuels.
It can involve some skin/asphalt interface, though.

so is there not going to be a 2024 Mustang? (gas) Sorry, I don't keep up with car news lately.

Ask me about minivans. I've been test driving those lately. Wife wants a new one.
