Fat Frank vs Maxxis Hookworm (tires)

I am looking for a fat urban assault tire. I need something tough. The Hookworms are a bit cheaper, and also have a lower TPI number (which I was told means stronger tire). Then I read about some Kevlar guard on the Fat Franks...Does anyone know if that's on the road surface? or the sidewall? I am combating goat heads, and most of my issues are riding surface punctures only. Any advice would be rad.

I'd look into running both Slime tire liners and Worksman puncture resistant tubes with any tire if I had to combat those things.

I'm using True Goo in my downhill rig which I often ride in New Mexico (the tumbleweed belt) and have seen it work against goat head stickers. Hope that helps!

the lower the TPI means it'll not run as well, ie. be more 'heavy' to pedal. it's a cheaper was to manufacture crap tyres
