Anybody got a source for a tire with a bit more width,
that will fit on a 26 x 1 3/8th rim (37 - 590)?
I haven't been able to find anything...
Especially on an old Raleigh bike I have
with big o' flat rims that still size out at 26 x 1 3/8
but look like they'd take a fatty tire well.

The biggest is the Panaracer Col de La Vie. They're large, cushy, and really well-made tires. They are a very tight fit under the Raleigh 3 speed fenders, but they work well on my 1974 Sports.

You may be able to find them for less elsewhere - remember you want the 590 size and not the 650b size.

Schwalbe Delta Cruiser is a runner up:

Those are fine tires, but they are NOT the fattest 590s.

42mm 590s, and they'e totally flat-proof and last forever.... but they do cost $55.

My favourites are the Schwalbe Delta Cruisers, though, in the standard 37x590 size. They're cheap, reasonably durable, and come in plenty of rad colours. Panaracer makes really nice tires, but fat guys like me tend to suffer a lot of pinch flats, on account of the thin sidewalls (which, to be fair, make for lower weight and a pleasant ride...)

How wide are you looking to go?
The Bikesmiths has these available on EBay for about $36...
