What are some your favorite bicycle accessories that you used to have or companies that used to be around that you might have missed their products?

I used to have one of those metal and plastic headlight and turn signals from the company CPC which I kind of miss those products from they made even though they were sometimes cool but cheap.

acs-z rims (the colored ,plastic rims you could throw in the freezer to fix warps.)
now this has become an urban myth. lots of not so bright peeps saying, i tried it and it doesn't work, i just got in trouble with mommy for bike parts in the freezer.
obviously all those nay sayers, never took the time to loosen all the spokes. 8) 8)

gotta love an unbreakable product

Thanks to the unbreakable DuPont Zytel material, ACS Z Rims are virtually indestructible. And that's a promise: ACS will replace Z Rims and other ACS components If broken during normal use. Send damaged part only for free replacement. ACS Z Rims are available in white, black, red, yellow and blue, individual rims or complete wheels with ACS Z Hubs - they're at your dealer now.

Chrome headlights with horns.

I also miss the little stamped metal license plates my old hometown gave you when you had your bike "inspected"

Hmmmm, does that work with mags too?

I bought Schwinn Spitfire back in '77 or '78 to use for cruising, and for diving down the dirt fire roads in the hills near where I live. I wanted a front brake for the bike. My LBS had a heavy steel adapter- a sort of "H" shaped thing that bolted into the hole between the fork blades where a front fender mounted, and held a Weinmann side pull caliper like they put on the five speed Klunkers. I've never seen one since, but I'd love to have one to put a front brake on my Heavy-Duti.

JWM

I like anything with red "jewels", klaxon style horns, fender skirts, and those teardrop pedals. Unfortunately most of that stuff is out of my price range.

I'd have to say I miss the old wheel disks of the 80's. Wish they still made them and in bigger sizes

They still make them in 20" and 26". I believe moon even made some 26" aluminum ones but they weren't cheap.

Outskirtcustoms- Normally they are mounted on the fork and there is a chain that you pull on that pulls it against the tire. When the tire spins it (like a light generator) it makes a sound like an old siren. I mounted it on the back because I think it looks better and I just reach behind and push it against the tire.

Here's a crappy video that gives you and idea of the sound viewtopic.php?f=21&t=30673&hilit=+american#p309379
