Fenders......

I know I'm gonna be throwing this one out there with a very small chance of actually happening but I have some Fat*** tires (24 x 3) and was curious if anyone makes a fender that would fit over the back wheel. I was thinking about making a front fender somehow as well but didnt think anyone would fit.

Any suggestions?!?

Ya might be able to roll-out/widen a set of stock 24" ballooner fenders with something like a baseball.

Just a guess,I've never done it.

I saw a trick somewhere. A guy took his old middle weight or maybe even balloon fenders, turned them upside down on a table and rolled a bocce (or croquet) ball all along inside. This widened the fender enough to get it over 3" tires.

I have some Felt shorty fenders that fit over a 24x3 and 26x3.

This rear tire is a Kenda Flame 24 x 3 tire wrapped in a fender made with two 26" balloon tire fenders. I pulled the sides of the fender apart to reduce the diameter of the fender to fit the tire snuggly. Remember when you widen the fender the diameter of the fender becomes smaller, when you squeeze the fender sides together the diameter becomes larger. Just work the fender by hand, it doesn't take much, to get a fender to fit properly.

That's the look I want, but I dont have a welder in any shape or form.... I want the fender to wrap the whole back tire (as much as possible) and I have very crude tools ( I work on my apts porch). Any suggestions? I wanna do a short fender on the front but not the back!

Hey tlaing,
I did not weld these fenders together, I pop riveted them together on this bike. I covered the rivets with beer labels.
I have also used an epoxy on wrap around fenders, be sure to work the fenders to get the proper gap you want between the fender and tire BEFORE you epoxy the fenders together, the epoxied area should not be bent, you will break the epoxy bond. To bond the fender together, first sand the paint and rust off of both surfaces, apply the epoxy, clamp the two fenders together, wipe off excess epoxy.
Put the seam in the most unnoticed place possible, between the frame tubes, or use the seam as a break in the color scheme.
Use two rear fenders, cut one for the front fender and use the rest of it with the other fender on the back .
