I think @American Vintage Bicycle Supply used that compression plug solution before too. Looking forward to paint
Paint has dried and time to grease the head and bottom bearings. I am using marine grease...another tip from RJ the bike guy. I have never done the sealed bearings with caps before.

Love that Costco work stand! I have one too, it's great 
It’s an Aldi’s stand. It works well after a few tweaks of sandpaper and fender washers. My good stand (Park) is on another project.
You're right, I meant Aldi.
Cosco, Aldi, Walmart they all get kept in the same container in my brain.
Starting the assembly today. Minus the seat post, almost a rider.
The bike become a rider today. I had to added a seat since last update and greased the crusty Bendix 70.
I took some pictures of fender options. My wife likes the chrome ones.
I still would like black painted from blue silver ones.
I guess mount the chrome for now and prep the black for painted set for a later mod.
The next step is making the chain guard black and cool again.

Please don't paint over the cool indian and guard lettering!!!!!
Added head badge. Used Stainless screws in place of drilled out rivers.
Pin stripe or bust time. I am limited by time to dry paint, assembly bike and go on a fun summer cruise the weekend. Using famous one shot paint to pin stripe does not help.
Black and red colors look great and glad you saved the graphics!

Did you use the clear coat they have or is the finish a satin?
Still making treks but it is satin or semi gloss. Regretfully I want to add a rack and a headlight.

Thanks for the feedback. It was a fun project. I know featherweight bikes with coaster brakes are not the top of the rat rod bike culture.
But with such a cool frame, I just wanted to ride it. It’s is very light and darts along very smoothly. It doesn’t have the clunky feel my Murray middle weight has. It has a nice campus/commuter vibe to it.
