Tire was actually still sorta seated. That pic is after me pulling the tube out.

You guessed correctly. For some reason I put 50 pounds and after the heat --- KABOOM!!!

Put another tube in there in no time.

After replacing the tube, I couldn't wait to get the wheels mounted up.

Here is my New "Nexus3" Departure rear wheel


After getting the tank horn working I took it apart and painted it. Decided to mount it in the tank. It sounds pretty cool. It's my first tank horn.




I also cleaned up the 48 Chrysler taillight and mocked a set of lights behind it.



I think I am going top drop the windscreen idea



Here are the Courtyard mocks with the new/old wheels and chainring suspension nanner and painted headlight

I don't know if you remember Karfer67(2 time build off winner) but this is on the level of some of his builds.

And I am totally blown away that you feel FireWing is at that level. :shock:
WOW! I am just glad that people are diggin it. It feels like it's taking forever to me. I can't wait to get some paint over the white skirt guards and blue seat braces.
Give me a buzz and remind me when you're coming down.

Well I was in St.Simmons this past week but I wasn't able to swing by SAV...I will later this summer!

It's was a very busy FireWIng day. But the end of the day was like taking a few more steps back.
I finally got my wheels on the bike to see what it would look like, but the next step is to break the whole rear end down for tweaking and painting.

This part is brought to you by Rogue Voodoo Doughnut Choclate, Peanut Butter, and Banana Ale. Sounds gross, but it was very balanced and tasty.
I can't wait to get some paint on the white and blue of the skirt guards and seat braces. When I look at the bike, it's hard to see past those big eyesore colors. I have to do a little tweaking the the braces, and some straightening of the skirt guard ribs.



First step was hammering the peak and curve of the back of the rear fender. I love this cobblers anvil that I picked up during last year's build off after seeing Pooroldlu use it for Orange Crush. It has so many different surfaces to hammer on.


That's it for tonight. Great weekend for FireWing progress.
