Sanded up the tank top tube trim and got the second on and tested in place after it dried.
Oiled up the frame with boiled linseed oil. It did detiorate the new Three Star Deluxe lettering a little bit, but I like it.
Started off with a heavy layer of oil. Cleaned off some with rags. It makes the black pop much better.
I painted the crank flat black yesterday. Greased everything and put it back together. I even finally put a chain on the bike too. Started to put the three speed hub shifter piece on, but it was too shiny, so I painted it flat black.
Worked some more on the tailight and painted a few other pieces of hardware. Lots of little things accomplished today.

i like the skull shift knob myself personally but both work
the rrb badge on the coaster bracket is a food idea!
it captures the use whatcha got theory quite well
cant wait to see the finished build

Where's the eight ball shift knob?
Out of the two choices, the door knob looks better. The skull doesn't fit in with the theme to me. Just my opinion though!

Finished the tedious work of put the flame skirts back on. Had to paint the heads of about 20 #4 screws and over 80 nuts. My spoke painting jig came in handy.
Had to take the tailight off, because I saw something dripping. Turns out that I drilled into the battery.

I like the idea of the skull shifter on it's own, but I have a feeling it's not gonna flow with this build. Once I get all the parts back on, I'll try all three. My favorite right now is the doorknob.

That sucks butt on the battery-hole. Same kinda thing happened to me once. I had an old '84 Crown Vic, and I put a cd changer in the trunk -- mounted it to the front wall of the trunk with self-tapping screws. All was fine...until I filled the gas tank the next time and started smelling gas. You guessed it, I put two self-tapping screws into the gas tank and had to pay a guy to drop the tank and braze the holes.
