I'm interested in bike building in general. I just started tearing down and building up a 2011 Trek Cruiser Classic. Anybody else take a cruiser and modify it for XC / trail riding? I can see I'll need some ideas on how to fix brakes to the bike if I plan to remove the stock coaster brake.
I'm also looking for feedback on whether or not I should consider selling the fenders and chain guard. I removed them from the bike, but my experience so far with selling parts is that I never get out of them what I have to put into packaging and shipping them. I just sold the fat tires and cruiser handlebars and I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to ship them. Thanks.
