Just a guy who enjoys bicycles. Planning on a build, acquiring the parts. Sometimes you pick up stuff along the way that just is awesome. Pics of my barn find 1958 Phillips LightWeight. She is a beauty. Going to disassemble, clean, lubricate, clear coat her (she has earned that patina) and enjoy the cruise!!!

Welcome wouldn't even use clear coat linseed oil much easier and cheaper and make the rust pop. It looks similar to a raliegh because it was made by Raliegh.

I'd second Ingola's suggestion of a Boiled Linseed Oil (BLO) treatment as a practical, pleasing finish.you might rub a dab of cooking oil in as example.
The '58 Philips also pre dates the Raleigh takeover in 1960 by my understanding.
