Re: First Ride in 50+ years: DQ and The Bridge
Hey Sloan, FIL loves to make people laugh, so perfect
You too Kingfish!
Thanks Randy! It's cool for someone else to point out something you don't see
The reds kinda frame it don't they, just lucky
If you knew all the times I've held my camera above my head
and had people look oddly at me, you'd laugh (and understand  )
Misery love company Jerry so thanks
IIFIFM, Thank you, Yes, FIL inspires me to know I could still ride when they take my car away
Youthgeye, that sounds like actual summer
instead of this cold and dreary junk we got this summer
Glad we meet your approval
Was thinking I might make a Fans Of FIL t shirt for FIL's 81st Bday this year
Put all the avatars from you guys on it with a "Fans OF FIL" banner
Thank You SpokeAndTruth, we appreciate your condolences
I'm sure going to try and keep the rides safe and successful for sure
Thank You Steve (Mr RRB) for featuring FIL's thread on RRB's Facebook page
And Thanks Everybody for the over 8000 hits (plus my own probably 2000 views  )
So last Sunday (1Jun), it was slightly warmer and kinda sunny
FIL seemed excited to got to DQ but then seemed a bit down and quiet
We all have good and not so good days and this was his turn
I think the DQ helped a bit and he was willing to go for a further ride
He put on a brave face for this picture as we went to the bridge
Look at all the bikes at Longfellow Grill (great food)
they purposely have a big bike rack for customers

I took him up to Lake Street bridge like we had last year
(he didn't remember and that's okay)
The view was great but he still wasn't the jolly joker like the week before
We headed back down to the river road path and finished up our 5 mile ride
Tried to see if I could find out what was bothering him but couldn't
Sometimes people just don't want to talk about things and that's okay too
He was fine later in the week and if the rain holds off tomorrow, we'll have another round
Thanks for Looking
Steve
