Hoping the learned folks here might be able to help. I’ve searched they interwebs and found references to outer diameter for tubing for forks, but not much about wall thickness. What thickness should I be using for some triple clamp forks at a ‘normal’ length? I’m not building a totally raked out chopper, just a cruiser with a bit of extra rake.

I’m hoping I can use some spare tubing I have lying around but think it might be a bit thin at 1.2mm for a 25mm OD. Sorry, I’m not good at inch measurements!

Thanks in advance.

I am subscribing to this since i am also interested. My inner feeling tells me that 1,5mm should be enough, so 1,2 probably would hold it too. If i won't forget, i'd measure my Dyno forks, they have open ends so it should be easy to get to them with a caliper.

1.5mm wall thickness on a suntour suspension fork inside tube (inside the suspension tube) 25.4 outside diameter.
