Hi all

What do you guys and girls do to protect your frames while building them up, so thay dont get scratched or damaged ??

I'm not going for the ratty look this time but a decent paint finish and may put the airbrush to work too.

a touch up brush!

seriously tho, I usually cant wait for the paint to dry all the way, so i just try and be careful and touch up my boo-boos when I'm all done..

Planning and patience are the keys.
If you're concerned about marring the finish, be sure to do a complete mock-up prior. Work out all the kinks while it's still 'ugly'. Then paint. As far as protecting it during assembly. I use foam pipe insulation and lots of blue tape.
Here's a pic posted on here (not my bike and can't remember who posted it) I use this technique when i'm being 'careful'.

All good tips guys and I use them all too!^

...and work slowly. It aint no race for final assembly.

Or it will be a lifelong/forever tribute to your carelessness and slopyness.

thanks for the posts

seen the low tac tape used on motorcycles in (dare i say it) american Chopper (ancent repeats on a uk tv channel "Quest")

Just waiting on my forks before i can mock the bike up just laced up the back wheel this afternoon ready but i still have a bit of welding left to do on the frame

In no hurry i will just take my time
