Got my cog loose from the hub. Had to come up with a device to hold the driver while I pounded on it with a piece of brass.

Finally, suckcess.

I just flipped it around and put it back together. It should be good for another 65 years.
By the way, the thread on the sprocket is right handed. The thread on the retainer ring is left handed.

Has anyone done a rear disc brake conversion? or would I be better off cutting the whole rear triangle off of something else?, or stick with one of my other two options? I guess I will go check out some yard sales and think about it.

There is a simple adaptor you can get. I just made one for my alum bike. On a steel frame welding on a mount should be simple. A rotor that's round on the outside makes it easier to line up and get the angle right.

That's a great klunker donor there for sure.

Nothing earthshaking going on here, but I did get my new seatpost made today. Started with 5/8" round bar and added some heat:

Cut to length and presto!

I believe that this will be my front hub. It came from a Next BMX bike. Cheap but I like it. Will not stay this color.

Got all measurements taken and spokes are on the way.

I'm loving this build so far, the Jetflow frame is probably my all time favorite frame. Combined with the triple tree, looks great, very aggressive. Will the exerciser chaining find it's way back onto this build? I think that would bump the aggression dial to an 11. Maybe fill those little holes with chrome license plate bullets kinda like old school Cragar spider caps?

I've been itching to put that 65T sprocket on something. I think that I may have tried it on this Higgins frame but had clearance issues, I'm not sure. I was planning on keeping the skiptooth setup, but with the triple tree up front, it seems like two different bikes to me. I'm thinking of switching to a more modern setup with a Sturmey Archer two speed and a three piece crank.

There's some 52 tooth chainrings out there, a bit of girth, but clearance as well. Just ask around. Or go modern, three piece cranks and chainrings sound cool as well.
The skip tooth I have on there is a 26, which is equivalent to the 52. Not really that big of a jump to 65. Had to shim to the drive side a bit and only had enough clearance on the opposite side because of a heavy wear spot on the frame where the crank was hitting the frame. Could probably find a wider crank.

I guess I am going down this 65T rabbit hole. I apologize to josh_from_ga who is featuring a 65T ring on his build. I should apologize to everyone, since I have never had an original idea to date. With that being said, here is how I was able to get more clearance for my chainring. First I yanked the crank out of an old Huffy mtb.

I hoped that the spacing was wider and it was. Old dogleg crank was shot anyway.

It was actually installed on the Huffy with some thick washers which I reused. Spacing looks pretty good. Drive side:

Non drive side:

Added benefit of the Huffy was that the small ring of the old gearset happened to be a 30T which I may be able to turn into a rear sprocket. Has a lot of offset built in though.

I didn't think the Higgins guard looked right with the big sprocket so I tried this one. No fenders:

With rear fender:

With both fenders:

Thanks ML. I like it without the fenders for sure. I would like to give the fenders a chance. They are just barely hanging on there right now, so they look a little weird. When I get my rear wheel and chainline sorted out, I can see what the fenders will really look like.
I don't like how the front fender is so much lower than the rear. Plus I don't understand why the front has a ducktail and the rear doesn't. The paint/patina is a match on both, maybe a mismatched set from way back?
