I was talking bikes with a gal at work and she mentioned the old Schwinns that her Grandma has. She said they were the bikes all the grandkids rode when they visited. So naturally I start prying :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
She went to the storage unit and snapped a pic or two....I'm gonna clean 'em up for her.

Does anyone know anything about the stems in the pic? Did schwinn use stems like these? Thanks, Mark

I had a 1980 Slick Chick and the Butchered Bantam both have those styles.

cool find. what is it about us that whenever someone at work or elsewere mentions they have a few old bikes or know someone who does, that the bicycle hairs on the back of our necks start to go "woo, woo, woo.", and we all become bicycle csi's? :mrgreen:

yup, those were the style for the "little kids" bikes. they dont have as much rise to them as the "big kids" bikes do

well, got 'em here. Boys looks like a 78 Stingray Jr. Someone touched up the paint...poorly.
Still, they should clean up OK...Pics eventually :mrgreen:
