Had the place to myself on the way out, but there was a roadie event on the way back. I think they were doing all the way to Cornwall and back, 44 km round trip, with some aiming to do it twice. I rode her bike, which performed flawlessly. Don't judge the saddle, she's been using it for decades.
Really wish you could have taken my final photos. Andrea has your pics on her wall as decor

Not too far from my front door to the trails. So many roads in the neighborhood end like this

Here's the view in the other direction

I gotta be careful where the trail ends though, this morning I wound up riding through someone's back yard. Looked like pretty expensive real estate, they're never pleased when a dirtbag like myself roll through

Not as fast as the other ones, they live in that neighborhood. Can't be developing in their back yard lol. Bit yeah, I was rolling through construction sites just a bit west of there. They're putting in another road

On foot yesterday, they repaired a section of the boardwalk at the Bird Sanctuary. It's a nature preserve in the wetlands on a migratory route. They financed it by selling boards on the boardwalk, you could get a name burned into it

Did you know that tacocat is tacocat spelled backwards? Also, the point of the visit, happy birthday, Laurie!

Dave would have loved it

Got out there in the dirt, this is definitely the earliest I've ever put tires on the trail. I usually don't get to play until May at the soonest. Hardly any snow this winter means that the mud is mostly dry. There are still swamps in lower lying areas and where the ATVs have dug pits

Because the aquatic vegetation hasn't had time to sprout, I was able to spot an old mossy beaver lodge. I wonder if it's still in use

Now for the Canadian prank of False Spring, the realest of April Fool's jokes

What we do is make everyone forget about winter with some nice weather. Then, roll out the biggest storm of the year. I remember one year when we got hit in May...
