General Bike question

I am going to a friend of a friend that is suppose to have a ton of old bikes (vintage and newer) in a barn. Im a fan of bikes and know if i like something when i see it but thats as far as my bike knowledge goes. What are some good names to looks for? From what ive been told schwinn over 20 years'ish old is good. I dont want to pass up a good find.

Schwinn, Shelby, Roadmaster, Elgine, Murray Mercury, JC Higgins, Dayton, Haley Davidson, BSA, AMF, Huffman, Western Flyer just to name a few.

i just got a couple pics. the only name on one i can make out is roadmaster (it is a womans with a small tank). the other pic looks like they just lined up the bikes along the wall. its a weird mix..... its mostly old school fenders and tanks on bikes and then bmx bikes from 90'ish. they are bad cell phone pics.

If you could , get the tank bikes. Tanks alone depending on the bike can be worth it.

Just got back.... it was talked up a little to much. mostly junk. I did pick up a schwinn breeze, schwinn collegiate, and a mystery bike that has real neat looking fenders all for $20. they have an inch of dust and missing parts but when i get them cleaned up ill post pics. I figure if i sell a few parts off a schwinn ill at least break even with enough to build my wife a bike.

For parts I have had the best luck here, complete bikes Craigslist, and rare bikes and parts E-bay.
