getting dents out of chrome fenders.....

Those dents in the rear fender... How to get them out without cracking or damaging the chrome finish.

Any good tips or tricks?
 
Remove the fenders and sometimes you can push them out by hand, if not you can lay it over a bag of sand and gently tap them out with a ball peen hammer.
 
Many autobody and chopper motorcycle shops have a device called an English Wheel. That would be ideal and probably not very expensive process.
 
Sometimes, but this will discolor the chrome, you can heat it up really hot with torch and use some dried ice to pop it out. I see that done a lot but again, it'll discolor the chrome.
 
i use a small piece of a broomstick the rounded end and just push it in the dent or if needed tap the end of the stick with a rubber mallet. :D
 
Geez, Walker...always in it for a sale :D Good for you.
As for dents it helps if you have the correct matching radius otherwise you'll make a mess
on the outside. Gooood Luck :roll:
