Goodness, I'm all giddy! The local police auction started online today, over 85 bikes listed!
I tend to have mixed feelings there. Those bikes are stolen. Cops treat bike theft as a low/no priority and there is no standardized registry system for bikes.

At least if you pick one up it'll go to a good home?

That's one of the first places I looked when any of my bikes were stolen. Never had any luck. If you ever have a bike taken, check there at the police impound, as many of the stolen bikes are just ridden and abandoned. That's how I got my Raleigh, stolen from my son-in-law's porch, but I found it a few miles away by a dumpster with a flat tire. He had another bike, so he gave me this one.

He sent me pics last night. View attachment 193243
Not much better trophy you can give to a Canadian than free beer. Only Lord Stanley's chalice could top it.
But we wanted bike pics
Guys sending them to me probably today. I don't take my phone with me when I go broke to many.

Hey, I wonder how you guys pronounce radler  It is a known drink here too. It became very unpopular after a well-known comedian absolutely destroyed it, but now, after a few years it came back as a favorite drink among barbecues.
I tastes a bit sweet, strange, because the beers in the east of the Netherlands are very bitter. Just like the people :21:

What is your favorite Canadian beer Matti?

Honestly don't have a favorite Canadian, but there are a couple of local small brewers I support...

If I'm buying big brands at the store I always get German beer, huge supporter of the 1516 purity law for beer: only 4 ingredients. But because of my Netherlands heritage, there's a bottle of Heineken tattooed on my leg. Iconic, symbolic, appropriate: drank a couple this weekend.

"Sundown in the Paris of the prairies
Wheat kings have all treasures buried
And all you hear are the rusty breezes
Pushing around the weathervane Jesus

His Zippo lighter, he sees the killer's face
Maybe it's someone standing in a killer's place
Twenty years for nothing, well, that's nothing new
Besides, no one's interested in something you didn't do

Wheat kings and pretty things
Let's just see what the morning brings

There's a dream he dreams where the high school's dead and stark
It's a museum and we're all locked up in it after dark
The walls are lined all yellow, grey and sinister
Hung with pictures of our parents' prime ministers

Wheat kings and pretty things
Wait and see what tomorrow brings

Late breaking story on the CBC
A nation whispers, "We always knew that he'd go free"
They add, "You can't be fond of living in the past
'Cause if you are, then there's no way that you're gonna last"

Wheat kings and pretty things
Let's just see what tomorrow brings
Wheat kings and pretty things
Oh, that's what tomorrow brings"

When I was on my motorcycle, Brookdale was terrifying. Just too much stupid going on! I'm all about the backstreets, boy! Coming from my place, I can dip into the parking lots across from Harvey's and avoid most of the mess. I used to ride the train tracks behind Harvey's, but you really needed suspension there, and now they've ripped them all out anyway. Unearthed an old pic of the RockRat riding the rails
