Well, Walked into a store I heard was hiring for delivery, Asked for an application, Filled it out, and they hired me.

Now I'm just worried I'm not going to be able to go to the biggest bike show around, The Ann Arbor Bicycle show.
Apparently the first week of may is super busy.

Re: Got a Job-Now Am I going to be able to go to Ann Arbor?

Well, Girlfriend got a job there too, And she says it is probably may 2nd. that you need to be there.

They're real serious...and not easy going people.

One guy who owned the place came up to me and got ticked because I was chewing gum. I went in for an application, Not an interview. Definatly wasnt dressed the part either. Feel kinda bad.

Congrats Dingo! Don't make them work you on Sunday (May 1).

Well, Some good news is I'm going to be going to ann arbor. Got that day off.

But, Lots of bad news.
Some of it is old, but...It still news.

I've had a bad first couple of weeks. 1st bad thing, I put a dent in one of the doors on the crappiest cars in the world. The door didnt open without some serious leverage, And put my weight against it and it opened...But left a dent in the door, something that can be popped out with a plunger.

They saw, I had no idea I was supposed to report it, and I forgot about it anyway because I slammed the door shut and figured it popped right back out. I told him the door hardly opened...We went out side. Of course they fixed it...So i look like a butt...as the door opens up no problem.

Second, I lock my keys in another car. This one has a gate that doesnt shut, but locks, and doors that dont unlock without the keys. Had problems opening the gate, and it locked, and the dude whos house I was at, called the police, and they wedged the car door, got inside...blah blah blah, The guy still tipped me...lol

Now today-I get a freaking speeding ticket. I was making up for lost time, and going fast...I guess 12 over, but i can SWARE i was only doing 5 over. But that is what they all say.

After 2 wrong addresses,(they printed them wrong) and me getting lost, I really needed to make up for some lost time. Seriously fearing they are going to fire me...

Note-I am only recorded 5 over on the ticket. Thanks officer.

This have been crap at home!

sounds like maybe your trying too hard? that makes you screw up, so you try even harder, which makes you screw up even worse. :x  ive been there, i think we all have. if it was all fun & games they wouldnt call it work. evn porn stars and beer taste-testers ocasionally have a bad day at work. no job is perfect, even if your doing something you love. try to remember each day is a new day. now i sound like dr.phil, somebody smack me!

Don't feel bad for chewing gum. He sounds like a complete pr*ck. I wouldn't worry about it. Do your job the best way you can and expect to be fired. That way, if you get fired in a couple weeks, you can just flip it on them and ask "what took you so long?"

Some jobs are worth being happy about, some are barely worth showing up. This sounds like the latter.

I dont feel like going into work tomorrow. Dunno what they're going to say about the ticket.

I mean, its my first job. I'm worried about the "Performance" So i gotta do something right.

The best lessons are often the hardest lessons and are also usually the earliest lessons. Welcome to character building.

Go to the job motivated, prove to yourself you are able to handle the firestorm. Accept responsibility for your actions and enjoy the experience. You will use this later on.

Anyone who gives you a job takes a certain chance. Because of this, they deserve to be rewarded by their decision to hire you. It's your job to make sure that happens. Offer to pay for any mistakes you've made and don't let him see you standing around if it can be avoided.

NEVER be looking at him when he looks up at you.-Smile when it's appropriate. Stay busy and return the favor of him hiring you. Be thankful to him for the job and show him you'll do better.

Show up early.

Gimmie a second to vent real quick...

I know I should not have been speeding in the first place, But I dont know why I can never get a break. My friends can do 150 on the expressway, Get a ticket for $90(3 points on his license...idiot)...Others do 95 and get warnings.
I do 5 over(for sure)...And get a ticket for $150(the first time)
And now, I'm going to get 2 points on my license, and an $85 ticket...Apparently was doing 57(correction from 12 over) in a 40. Thought I was doing about 45.

I was in a company truck, with probably inaccurate instruments(i'm not bringing that up to anyone) and I was running late on deliveries thanks to wrong addresses.

Gotta thank the officer for the semi-break...

I just dont want the points on my License.

Here's an idea, Get a ratty old Volkswagen bug!
Great milage, great look to them, and some bonus perks.........

When you're running late, say "I had to adjust the points again"...... It works.....
When you're running behind, say "This thing only has 38 horsepower, What more do you want?"
And If you get pulled over you're probably not speeding.
