After hiding in the dark corners for the past 6 months I thought I would share a bit of what has been going down in the Chop Shop.

Last fall I was contacted by Gary at Low Life Bikes asking if I had any interest in entering a build off against 4 other custom bike builders. Knowing that the other 4 guys are some of the very best builders around I was rather leery of the idea. After all, I have never built a frame from scratch. Let alone a one off springer fork. My mouth ran faster then my heart wanted and I accepted the challenge. It turned out to be a great experience and I learned so much. I really enjoyed it. Below is a breakdown of the build and photos of the progression.

Frame = Chop Shop Customz "Uno"
Fork = Chop Shop Customz springer
Bars = Chop Shop Customz
Wheels = 80mm x 26" artwork by Syrarium Studios (with matching skateboard of course)
Hubs = rear Nuvinci N360 front Black ops sealed. ( Hubs polished by Tadlock Bros)
Bottom bracket = Profile Mid sealed
Cranks = Profile
sprocket = Profile
Seat = B67 honey brown ( Thanks to Smoopys )
Shifter = Boxkar ( Thanks to Tech Bikes )
Pedals = Shadow conspiracy
Head Badge = Jones and sons

My goal was to build a mid stretch bike that was low and solid. A bike built for comfortable cruises with plenty of gear range.
Feel free to ask questions or comment. Thanks for looking!

Looks good, I like the overall styling. First custom frame? Well done.

Thank you!
I have chopped and altered many frames but yes this is my very first frame rolled and bent up from tube.

Thanks for posting those! I just noticed the sides of the rims are turned! Beautiful!!
Are you sure those bars aren't a set I did a while back(at least the picture)?!?
Just messing with you! Looking forward too seeing more of your work.
BTW, when I originally saw the teaser pics of the fork I thought you were going a WHOOOOOLE different route.

Thank you very much. The bars pictured are very similar to the ones you made. Few inches wider and nowhere near the quality of yours. I put yours on my Peek cycles build last year. I love them.
The rims surely are the gem of the build. He knocked it out of the park with the artwork.

Sorry, wasn't implying anything. I know they weren't(just said it since they were suede black) and I know you're a stand up guy also so I wouldn't even sweat it. Was just joking with you. Again, beautiful build all around!
