Re: Villiers board tracker

Just finished and we're on our way to fire it up tomorrow.
I have a chain clearance issue though so I guess only the clutch will work... I hope..

Thanks a lot and keep rollin'

Re: Villiers board tracker

Thanks guys.
The fireup was a roaring success!
I was affraid that this old 4 stroke engine just was'nt able to deliver enough rpm as to engage the clutch OR that this engagin' would happen at so hi rpm that I was'nt gonna have mutch throttle left.
But in fact I had to tune the carbureator so that iddleing rpm were lower and it did'nt engage the clutch immediatly.
The sound is great. It's that off tune deep thing..
I'll make some footage of it tonight and post it up for you.
Thansk a lot and keep rollin'

Re: Villiers board tracker

Me and my friends Pisco and Cácá gathered up at my place last night and one of them shot the whole thing.
Pisco is gonna edit it and send me the links so we can show you guys.
I guess that during the day..
Thanks a lot and keep rollin'

Re: Villiers board tracker

thats one sweet sounding bike dude! 8) very jealous
when you ride it thought are go going to angle the exhaust back? so you dont end up with air trying to force your exhaust fumes back into the engine?
once again sweet build!

Re: Villiers board tracker

Thanks a lot man.
That's a good point. Never thought of that.
I'll angle it downwards and a bit backwards I guess.
cant wait to solve the chain clearance thing and give it a go :D
Keep rollin'

Re: Villiers board tracker

Haha i may be wrong i have little experiance with gassers  just seems logicak?
Lookin forward a vid of itt on the go :D

Re: Villiers board tracker

I Like it this way.
I'm not experienced on this either.
Maybe some other members can tell if I could leave it like this.
Thanks man and keep rollin'

Re: Villiers board tracker

I love it! It sounds great.. :D
I need to find one of these engines for my next build..

Re: Villiers board tracker

Thanks a lot.
I've got a major problem now.
The clutch does'nt seem to have any grip. I mean, as I accelerate, the clutch does'nt engage the chain thus negative spin on the wheel: nothing! .
I see two possibilities here and I can't seem to figure out wich: Either I've got the pulley skidding or the rpm is'nt high enough to properly engage the clutch's outter case... In this case, if I get the carburator properly tuned, is it possible to remove the clutch's springs and still have a progressive throttle?

Help me out guys.
Keep rollin'

Re: Villiers board tracker

Hey there.
I understand what you're saiyng, and I would immediately agree if the bike had both wheels on the ground and had difficulty taking off.
But this is different: The back wheel was free, it was mounted on those rear triangles (don't know the name) and it does'nt move even at full throttle.. Dang!
What do you think?
Thanks a lot

Re: Villiers board tracker HELP NEEDED!

mmmmmm check its still attached to the shaft? that is not snapped some how is it just not turning the rear wheel or is it not jurning any of the drive train?

Re: Villiers board tracker HELP NEEDED!

Hey there. Thanks for helping.
Everything seems to have pretty good traction 'till the centrifugal clutch's outter shell. This does'nt move at all. I think that it's the three pads on the clutch that don't engage as they should. Maybe the springs are too strong. In fact, the clutch came from a 2 stroke engine scooter (higher rpm), so I guess that the rpm on my 4 stroke just isnt' enough.
I was wondering if I could remove the springs or make them weaker.
What do you think?
Thank you and keep rollin'
