I already have a few very basic ideas in my head as to the next ones I will build... this is not going to be the last. I also have quite a few ideas about how this one will be built up, and it's headed to the builds section pretty soon.

Not to toot my own horn.... I was Tobia's commercial lender when he 1st had the idea to build his own frames! Chris, dont ever give up this passion!!!! At 15 you are lightyears ahead of 99.9% of us :) What do you say you and I get together with the permission of dad and build up some jigs to design some of our own Ballooners?

WOO! that looks fantastic! wish i could take that class.. build my own lightweight diamond frame.

just checked the price and wow, for that price i'll buy all the equip and just wing it

For a guy who has some skills/experience in metal work, knows how to braze or can get some instruction (there's a reason for community colleges) that isn't an unreasonable option.

Download the free version of the Paterek book http://www.timpaterek.com/tpmanual_pdf.htm to get a clue of where to start and go from there.

Me, I'll be making racks and jigs, and stands and stuff, and adding braze-ons and maybe doing some mods to frames for awhile building some skills and accumulating tools.

thanks for passing that link along! i might have to order some stuff from this guy, maybe some DVDs. i'd love to actually see how some of this stuff is done.

There are some framebuilding vids on youtube to start with. A couple are pretty crude, but it shows what you can get away with and not die on the bike. There are some instructionals on brazing and that's the biggest part.
