seat?.... been wondering how comfortable these seats are...(banana seats, i think that's what they're called... i could be wrong)

talking about commuting type distances.... perhaps 15 to 20km one way...

and is there such a thing as a quality banana seat? if so, who makes them?

thanks guys and gals in advance!!!

was gonna say, its like being driven outta town on a rail. (2x4)
that being said, i find my jumbo lowrider banana seat is a little wider and a lot more comfortable than most.

I rode a stingray on a 16 mile ride and will never do it again  . I think I'd want comfort before style on my commuter bike, 15-20k is gonna saddle sore you every time you ride.

Thats odd...nobody likes it

I tend to enjoy it, only because of the foot forward setting...
I kind of pedal bowlegged when riding on a nanner, that might be why my thighs dont rub.

I bet a wide banana seat like that on a manta ray would be comfy.

They arent that terrible, i only use em for playing around or running errands under 5-6 mile trips though. Definitely worth it to have a suspension sissybar if you can.

This reminded me of the time I brought one of my cruisers to my LBS with a plastic old school 80s BMX seat on it.

One of the guys there said I should swap the seat out with a large metal spike to make it more comfortable....ha ha.

ouch! but i do remember my bmx from the 80's, had a Cellini (sp?) seat on my kuwahara bent seat post... look hella cool back then, but somehow cant remember what the seat actually felt like??.... i do remember it being rather hard though... oh the things we used to do when we were young

Back in the mid 1960s when I was 45 years younger and a 120 pounds lighter, I don't remember the seat on my blue Sting Ray with 2 speed kickback, tallest sissy bar in town, and was the coolest bike around, the banana seat wasn't bad at all.
The problem I had was before I got the tall sissybar, was trying to wheelie, the bike come out from under me and come down on the sissybar, and bent the seat. I'd mow some more lawns and go to the bike shop and get a new seat.
But, in todays world for me, NO THANK YOU.
