How do you count your bikes?

I'm always wondering how to tell people how many bikes I have... it all depends on how I count them.

Do you count by complete bike?

Do you count by rideable bikes?

Do you count frames?

Do you count parts from specific bikes?

Do you count potential in your mind?

Just wondering.

Right now I pretty much count by frames (except my tall bike, once the frames welded together I counted that as 1).

I never count just for that reason...I always say, "A few". :wink:

Im very honest with my wife about how many bikes I have but as for how much I paid...not so much! When I get a new one I just tell her I "traded" for it...I just dont tell her I traded cash for it 8)

I count only the rideable bikes- eight. Also, there's a department store mtb, and a Trek road bike that were my wife's before we got married. The Trek road bike was too spindly for her to ride safely, and the cheap mtb weighs a ton. They're not currently rideable, and they're sitting under a tarp in the yard. A couple years back, I bought her a 21 speed Trek comfort bike for a rider. We take the classics out for Cyclone Coasters, short cruises for coffee, and beach rides.
I'm funny that way- if a bike has the cool factor, and gets my interest I keep it pampered and polished- won't even let it get dusty. If a bike doesn't get my interest I won't even put air in the tires.
