How do you mount a fender on a springer?

I have a Schwinn-style repop springer, and would love to know how to mount a fender on it... Anyone ever done this? Is it possible?

Does it have a hole at bottom of the stear tube? Or a hole anywhere near the bottom on the outside?

yeah it does. but I figured if I mount it to the steer tube it would bend when the springer bent... Won't it?

Yes, you have a valid point there! Schwinn got around that by attaching a clamp to the fender that pivoted around the through bolt that held the fork legs to the steer tube. You might be able to fashion something like that?
