Hi guys, I'm new. My name's Chris and I just bought a Hawthorne Flyer frame and fenders off of ebay. All I know so far is that its a motorbike frame, and that it would have had 28 inch wheels. Poking around on here and on the Cabe I learned that 1933 was the last year that these were made in 28 inch. I've already looked on nostalgic.net and want to know what else I can find.

Can anyone help me date this bike?

Thanks a lot!

Oh yeah, I know the front fork is backwards and that the gooseneck is from the 60s. I just haven't taken better pictures yet.

Thanks!

its old! lol
i believe those straight out the back rear drop outs, make it a pre war frame.(well at least in the ball park)

I have a Hawthorne motobike with a different head badge and mine dates in the mid thirtys. My head badge has M W in the middle. I would guess your to be in the twentys just because the head badge is cooler looking.

That's gonna make an awesome rider! Congrats on finding that one.

oh my, not old at all. it beleive this is one of the repops they made in the 1980's! i wouldn't even be worth fixin' up, better just send it to me and i will dispose of it properly!!! :D

Alright Sensor, I'll introduce myself just to make you happy dude. (Insert laugh and sardonic smile.) And yes, I love nostalgic.net, its like bike pornography. It also gives me ideas to steal, er, I mean borrow when it comes time to paint mine.

To B607: Take the logical, easy, and inexpensive way out when I can do it senselessly, expensive and hard? Nevvah!

To Tommy: I already collect antique cars, film cameras, and 1930s refrigerators. And I already have my great-grandmas dishes. Another hobby won't kill me, unless its a high-wheeler.
