Member Barnbikes ask about Morrow in his post, which brings up a question. What are considered to be the better of the older hubs? I remerber in the the 70's Bendix Redband was the one to have. Thanks Tom. ?
1) Morrow. Stop great, very solid internals. The classic 'power of the wedge'. 8)
2) Bendix red band. Stop well, a bit lighter, super easy to overhaul. Cheaper and much more common than Morrows.
3) Shimano. I know, I know, not classics but at least they're available new for a reasonable price if you need something shiny and functional in a hurry...
4) Everything else. Except...
5) KT, Histop, other no-name chinese Shimano copies. The worst. Blech.
