A little tedious to get the tape to curve but it can be done. It beats me trying to freehand a line or paying someone to do it...here is the test.

Finished striping on front fender.

Wow you do know how to color within the lines :D
Paint by the numbers at its best. Works for me. If I would have known how this actually works, I would have gotten a double line tape and done two colors.

The SkipTooth chain isn't going to work so I'll be going with 1/2" pitch. I have a couple Higgins type chainrings and found a cool chain.
Still need to lay down the striping on the rear fender. I added a dart on the back to match the front. I've been using some Minwax wood stain to age the white paint. Still need to do the tank. I also test fit the rear wheel. I'll need to tweak the fender braces a bit for clean rolling.

Could you use the spray paint in cap to pick out some detail on the front hub garnishes in the red to emphasize the two main tones you have used on the whole bike?
I hadn't thought about that, but probably so. I'll have to take a closer look. Input always appreciated, thanks.

Was trying to test run that idea on the computer but my hands shake too much to get anything like a good feel for if it may work.

In the end it is only something that might be worth time if all your better ideas gave been done already:praise:

Tied up with four grandkids this weekend. No progress. Back to the build Tuesday. By the way I noticed there are 6 KS builds going on, I know about 5 of them. Just wondering who the other one is.

Grand kids have gone home. Building can resume Tuesday. Should be able to pickup my shifter and do some more paint.
In reading thru threads the past couple of days I notice some testy comments being posted. Just keeping it real and neutral here. Just don't see the need to be negative or critical, friendly or not.

Just catching up on some of the builds.....NICE!

Picked up a suicide shifter today. It is a conversion for the Nexus grip shift. I'll probably mount it on the seat post.

Removed the crank to change out the chainring to 1/2" pitch.

To humid to paint today. I played around with chainrings. From skiptooth, to used Higgins style, to new 48T ring.

Think I decided on the new one, I'll give it some age.

And add some acorn nuts, I had to drill out the holes for #10-32 pan head bolts which I'll need to shorten or add some washers.

Think I will also change out the tank aluminum sex bolts to a little beefier brass plated ones.

Amazing how much older the chainring looks just by adding those acorn nuts to it!

Luke.
All about, smoke, mirrors and illusion. My inspiration comes from the real deal rat rod cars and trucks. Picked up #25 issue of RATROD Magazine today. Lots of cool stuff.
