Back in '73-'74, my 7th or 8th grade history teacher showed us films of American atrocities committed on vietnamese prisoners during the war. I can still see the GIs pumping rounds into the heads of helpless gagged and blindfolded people.
My oh my, have times changed.
Was I shocked? you betcha. Why would i even still remember that 35 years later?
I bet quite a few parents would raise some cane if their kids were seeing that crap going on in Iraq or Afghanistan today in their history classes.
Sad fact, no one raised a hoot about it back in '74.
Something called the 1st amendment. As long as you don't cry fire in a crowded movie theater.
